Overview
On 10th of July 2025, Wave Group had the honour to facilitate the Leadership Readiness Workshop, organized by AI Corporate Hub in Nigeria. The workshop was held under the theme “AI Today” and brought together a group of emerging AI professionals and decision-makers focused on using AI to solve real, local problems.
The workshop culminated in a powerful outcome: the creation of a shared mission that is to raise awareness of AI, build community-focused solutions, and collaborate with institutions to create long-term impact. This unified direction now serves as the foundation for the hub’s future work.
The core objective was to support the development of leadership mindsets, define actionable goals, and align purpose with execution across Nigeria’s growing AI ecosystem.
Challenge
Nigeria is rapidly embracing artificial intelligence, with national strategies aimed at scaling AI in sectors such as agriculture, education, health, and energy. However, while technical talent exists, there’s a growing need for purpose-driven leadership that can align innovation with real-world impact.
AI Corporate Hub needed a structured, focused session to help their members go beyond ideas and begin shaping the future through clarity, mission, and teamwork.
Many local innovators face challenges beyond code:
Lack of structured guidance on how to align AI work with real-world impact
Limited access to leadership development in the context of emerging technologies
Disconnect between ambition and execution knowing what to build, but not how to structure the process or measure success
The AI Corporate Hub saw this gap clearly. As a collective of driven individuals, they needed more than inspiration and motivation. They needed a space to reflect, align, and begin moving as one.
That’s where we as Wave Group stepped in to guide the team in bridging the gap between vision and action.
Wave Group’s Role
To help the AI Corporate Hub turn intention into structure, Wave Group facilitated a high-impact virtual session focused on clarity, leadership, and execution.
The workshop was:
Led by Josif Tosevski, who guided the session with a structured, practical approach
Mentored and supported by Gala Tomovska, CEO of Wave Group, who provided strategic oversight and depth
Collaboratively executed with Atule Christian, co-owner of AI Corporate Hub, whose local leadership and coordination helped shape the experience
The Wave Group team created a framework that blended reflection, team alignment, and real planning, ensuring the session was inspiring, but at the same time actionable.
The format encouraged participants to think beyond individual projects and toward the bigger picture: What are we building, why does it matter, and how will we make it happen?
This approach helped shift the group to a unified hub with a clearly defined mission and forward momentum.
The Workshop Journey
The Leadership Readiness Workshop followed a carefully structured flow designed to help participants reflect, align, and act. Each phase built on the one before, moving from personal insight to collective purpose and practical next steps.
Phase 1: Reflection & Context
The session opened with some powerful questions:
Why do you care about AI?
What excites or worries you about it?
Where could AI have the biggest impact in your country over the next 5 years?
These reflections set the tone: this was a leadership moment. Participants considered AI’s role in homes, institutions, and communities across Nigeria.
Phase 2: Personal Mission Statements
Each participant was asked to write down a personal mission, answering the question:
“What is your mission in this hub?”
The exercise pushed individuals to connect their technical skills to a greater sense of purpose as leaders and innovators..
Phase 3: Collective Alignment
After sharing their personal missions out loud, the group worked together to define a shared mission that united their goals:
“To raise awareness of AI, build community-focused solutions, and collaborate with institutions to create long-term impact.”
This became the core takeaway of the session, a mission they can now build upon together.
Phase 4: From Vision to Execution
The final part of the workshop focused on structure:
Milestones were set, outlining what the team will build and launch in the coming months
KPIs were defined - offering a clear way to measure meaningful progressTeam Roles were assigned with clarifying who is responsible for what, and who leads each part
Action Steps were agreed on, identifying what begins immediately, starting the next day
By the end of the session, each participant left inspired and equipped with a personal purpose, a collective direction, and a plan to move forward. What began as personal reflection evolved into a shared commitment to lead with purpose and supported by clear plans, measurable goals, and a unified mission that will guide the hub forward.
Outcomes & Impact
By the end of the Leadership Readiness Workshop, the transformation was clear. What began as a room full of individuals with ambition became a cohesive, purpose-driven team with clarity, alignment, and action steps.
Here’s what the workshop achieved:
Unified Mission
Participants left with a powerful shared mission that now serves as the foundation for the hub’s ongoing work:
“To raise awareness of AI, build community-focused solutions, and collaborate with institutions to create long-term impact.”
This mission didn’t come from theory. It came from honest reflection, open conversation, and shared values.
Shift From Ideas to Execution
The team identified:
Concrete AI applications in agriculture, education, health, and energy
Existing AI based projects
Clear next steps for how to move from ideation to implementation
Leadership Grounded in Purpose
The workshop emphasized leadership principles that will guide the team long-term:
Clarity over complexity
Responsibility without ego
Curiosity that never stops
This mindset shift positions the hub to grow with intention as community leaders.
Stronger Ecosystem Foundation
The experience deepened collaboration among members and reinforced the hub's identity as a strategic force for Nigeria’s AI future.
Participants left with a sense of direction and a roadmap to build something real together.
Why It Matters + Next Steps
The Leadership Readiness Workshop was more than a one-time training and it was a catalyst for long-term transformation.
At Wave Group, we believe that real innovation happens when technology meets leadership, when people are not only equipped with tools, but also with the vision and structure to use them purposefully.
This workshop proved that:
With the right guidance, local teams can align, lead, and build AI solutions that are deeply rooted in their communities.
Why It Matters
Because AI transformation starts with people, not platforms
Because local leadership is essential for meaningful, scalable impact
